Babe in the Wood is a book that brings together the work of artists who “employ new and experimental working ideas in the practice of traditional-contemporary art making.” The book, scheduled to be printed sometime this summer will have an introduction by Laura Heon, the curator of Site Santa Fe.

Involved in the project, alongside myself, are many great young photographers and artists that I know—and also many that I’ve never met. From the website:

The first volume features a wide selection of work by young artists that are modernizing and re-interpreting the traditional mediums of drawing, printmaking, painting, and photography.

The artists involved have transformed these traditional mediums to convey contemporary artistic concerns and new explorations into old themes such as, myth, culture, identity, story, ritual, and history among others.

Updates on the book’s official release date and future exhibitions will be coming soon. Stay tuned.
