Portfolio Redesigned!
Sunday, May 6, 2007I put a simple redesign of the main site online this evening in celebration of, well, the end of the semester and summertime. Let me know what you guys think — I hope everyone will be as pleased with the new look as I am.
Speaking of design, over at The Style Press (fashion, design, art blog), Greg Lutze made a post with my image Blue Moon Diner, Arundel, ME, 2007. Thanks, Greg.

It really has me wondering about the possibilties/standards of web as a ‘venue’ for photography — what works, what fails, and so on. I like the information being so easily accessible right away on the new site, but I’ll think about doing something to compensate with so much text text so quickly. Doesn’t seem bad to me, though… look at this for example.
Thanks for the feedback. Check in soon as it might be different.

I think the images should be bigger. Seems like there is a lot of white space and your work calls for close examination.

I’m very happy with the new design. Happy to see that you moved the “blog” link to the top of the right-hand column. Good move. And I agree with Horton, though you run the risk of image theft, I always enjoy the chance to see your images on a larger scale, not having much to do with design at all. Maybe you could keep the images on your blog the same size, but provide higher resolution files for the images on your portfolio. Just a thought.
Keep up the good work.
Love,
Alex

Carey, no no I’m not — don’t worry. And again, thanks very much for the link and the post about the DC show. Much appreciated!
