Yesterday I returned from my trip to the nation’s capital where Greg Wasserstrom was nice enough to host Bryan Schutmaat and I for the weekend, for the opening of Take Us Anywhere, But Take Us Now. The last time I had been to D.C. was when I was in 8th grade and on a class field trip. This trip, as one might imagine, was much different. Greg did, however, give us various un-official tours of the city, the white house, and the monuments at night — on top of that, he showed us some good mexican cuisine and a quirky breakfast hot spot.
For those of you who were not able to make it out for the show on Saturday, I made a rough (actually, very rough) video tour while opening began, which will hopefully give those of you who weren’t there a decent idea of the space. Molly, who runs the Warehouse Gallery was exceptionally nice and accommodating. And it was a relief to show work in a more casual venue, without intimidatingly white walls.

If you plan to be in the D.C. area any time until the end of May, stop in to see the work while it’s still hanging!

You really captured the gusto of the theme in your video, it was moving. Thank you!
