Boys in the Woods, 2003 (from “Personal Work”)
© Anna Bauer

I just returned from a few days away camping in the woods and, maybe as a result, I’m finding myself drawn to the above image by Anna Bauer. Not unlike the work of Nicholas Prior, her images explore the highly psychological moments of her subjects - many of which are children.

More photographs from this series can be seen on Anna’s website.

The young boys are actually her brothers. It’s an interesting dynamic. Almost as if she is reliving her childhood. One never feels her presence as an intruder. Rather she is more like a fellow pack member.

    Hi there,

yes, these are y brothers. If anyone would like to see more of the images,
you would have to email me, since some poor and sick people put links to the images
on german pedophile blogs. So I took them down. Am very sad about this!
