The FADER Magazine, Issue 48

In Issue 48 of The FADER Magazine, two photographers that I admire have pictures of musicians I also admire.

Tierney Gearon photographs Devendra Banhart:

And Anna Bauer photographs Spencer Krug (Sunset Rubdown):

Nothing like finding good editorial work. If you don’t think you’ll have a chance to look at the magazine on the shelf, you can actually download the whole thing here (PDF).

The only thing I find somewhat sad is that most of these mags don’t pay properly or at all. It’s good that good work gets printed of course but I wish the benefits to the photographers were a bit more direct.

Agreed. Even the New York Times mag has a low day rate for assignments. Editorial strike!

Editorial strikes wouldn’t happen. However I really REALLY like the photograph of Spencer Krug from Sunset Rubdown and Wolf Parade. From the times I have spoken with him and seeing him perform this photograph creates the exact feeling he emanates to the crowd.
