I had the pleasure of meeting Victoria Hely-Hutchinson this summer while I was living in Brooklyn. Victoria asked me to put together her web portfolio and I was more than happy to; she’s not just a sweet girl but a great photographer.
Tonight I spent some time updating her site with some new images and realized I had never mentioned her work on the blog. Her English Boarding School series is especially nice.

Very nice work, maybe its an easy comparison but as soon as I saw that bottom image I thought of Rineke Dijkstra’s “Daniel, Adi, Shira, Keren” photos. Two of the girls even look similar.

I agree, I like her work also. Some of it strays into the typical “contemporary photograhy” look with the blank stares and “cold” scenes, subject isolated and centered in the frame but much of it is differrent and engaging.
