Greg Miller: Nashville

Sunday, November 16, 2008

Pete Halupka informed me of Greg Miller’s website update, which includes a new project titled Nashville. Upon visiting his site, I found out that Greg was one of seven photographers to be awarded the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship for 2008.

Here are a few of my favorites from his new series:

    Bill Daniel is also a recipient;
    Which just suits my fancy enough.

    But in all seriousness, Miller’s work is tremendous;
    and I can not wait to see what he produces with the
    Guggenheim is his pocket.

    Hi Shane,

    I didn’t know this great photographer, thanks for sharing !

    you know, I’ve never cared for alec soth, I find his work painfully earnest, dull, predictable.
    but looking at these photos I realize maybe soth is at least a bit more focused.
    I’m been aware of millers work for some time now and feel this “nashville”, is too much trying to be of the current wave. right? feels very pedestrian. common.
