Aaron Gustafson recently completed a series of large-format landscape photographs that he shot while freefalling through the skies of New York and Washington State. He is supposedly the first person to take large-format photographs while skydiving. It was done using a custom designed helmet-camera, which holds a sheet of 4×5 film:

.And the point is? Other than Aaron claiming that nobody else has dropped from the sky shooting LF photos of the grounds below, this is a little eccentric to say the least. I would think it would be a lot easier to remotely trigger the camera mounted outside of the plane window. BUT hey, let us face it, Aaron looks just great falling from 14,000 feet and with a camera mounted on his head! Concept and successful execution, far more important to know in this case.
