The photographic effects used in these pieces are absolutely breathtaking. In addition to the three photos published here, the other ones in the series are clearly representative of a landscape or a particular biome. However, the more abstractly composed photographs appear to be viruses or bacterium taken with an electron microscope. The fact that the subject matter differs between what’s easily recognizable and what isn’t creates a feeling of uncertainty for the viewer, as they become less confident in being able to describe what they’re seeing.
